Counseling
We understand that there are times in life where you just need a helping hand. In fact, many people are doing very well in some parts of their life while struggling in others. Now might be the time when you need someone to come alongside and encourage you from the Bible. Biblical Counseling seeks to carefully discover areas in which a Christian may be unaware of, or disobedient to, the commands of Scripture and to help him/her learn how to lovingly submit to God’s will.
We believe that God has given us all we need to know Him and to live in a way that is pleasing to Him. All our difficulties may not evaporate. However, when a person willingly submits to God's instructions and clings to his promises there is hope and help. The hope and help does not come from the study of man or any psychological principles. It comes from the healing truths of God’s Word. Our ministry's focus is rooted in the firm understanding of 2 Timothy 3:16: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
What kind of concerns do people that come for counseling have? We see folks with all kinds of problems, but the most common would be those struggling in their marriage, helping parents with their children, those dealing with sexual sin, and those struggling with their emotions (e.g. depression or anger). In all cases, we use the Bible, God’s Sufficient Word, to answer the problems of life.
As a Ministry of Faith Baptist Church and the community, this is what we expect of you.
We have three requests from you. First, we ask you to be honest. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to help you if you continually lie to us. Second, we ask you to do weekly homework assignments that will encourage lasting change. Third, we ask you to give us a little time. Habits were not developed overnight and new habits will take several weeks to develop.
